DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
New Work: Plaster, Cement rendering etc. – These should be allowed to dry out, and any efflorescence evident removed completely prior to painting. If efflorescence reappears, wipe down again, and leave for two or three days. Apply 2 or 3 coats Sissons Emulsion Paint when efflorescence ceases.
New Work :Wood and Metal – Before Sissons Price Buster Emulsion Paint can be applied, priming with the appropriate Sissons Primer must be carried out after normal preparation of these surfaces. For Wood, rub down and treat all knots with two thin coats of Sissons Sanding Sealer then apply one coat of Sissons Universal Undercoat. For metal, use Sissons Zinc Chromate Primer – Red or Yellow or Zinc Phosphate Primer – White.
Previously Painted Surfaces – Surfaces in good condition should be free of dirt, wax, grease etc., and if glossy, thoroughly sandpaper to ensure good adhesion. Old emulsion painted surfaces can be repainted if no cracks or flaking has occurred, in which case it is most essential that unsound areas are removed by wire brushing. In these circumstances in order to bind the surface, a coat of Sissons Water based Acrylic Sealer must first be used. Non-washable coatings must be removed completely before painting.
Sissons Price Buster Emulsion Paint contains a powerful fungicide which means that it can resist mold growth under the most adverse conditions. However, where fungus is already present, it should be destroyed before painting.
Fungus infected surfaces could be sterilized by scrubbing with soap and water- First wash or scrub surface with soap detergent. DO NOT USE BLEACH. Rinse the surface thoroughly to remove any fungus or algae. Allow to dry thoroughly. Apply Sissons Biocidal Solution to affected areas. Allow to react for at least 30 mins. Repaint surface shortly after treatment has dried.
